I hope you all had a great weekend and had time to read or listen to some wonderful books.
I finished my PsyCop series marathon. Wow. This series just got better and better with each book. PsyCop is a fun, sexy, fast paced, erotic, paranormal series. I mentioned that many friends had recommended the series to me. I am sometimes like a crow distracted by shiny objects. then I read her book, Magic Mansion. My focus was redirected. It is not like her Psycop series, but I will always think of it as my gateway book into the creative mind of Jordan Castillo Price.
did I mention that I listened to this series? The narrator is Gomez Pugh. He does an outstanding job. Just perfect!

Once upon a time if you told doctors you heard voices, they’d diagnose you as schizophrenic, put you on heavy drugs, and lock you away in a cozy state institution to keep you from hurting yourself or others.
Nowadays they test you first to see if you’re psychic.
The PsyCop series by Jordan Castillo Price features frazzled psychic medium Victor Bayne and his smokin’-hot boyfriend, Jacob Marks. Fifteen years ago, Victor studied at Heliotrope Station, one of the original residential psychic training programs in the U.S. The only thing he learned in that facility was how to be a better liar.
Now he’s part of an elite PsyCop unit. Solving murders should be a snap when you can talk to the deceased. But since no one’s ever given him a lucky break when they were alive, why would they start now ?
There are plans for a Crash PsyCop Prequel novel and a Psycop Shorts anthology to come out later this year. Can’t wait!

I also read two books this past week. Very different from the Psycop series. The first one is
Blurb: Is five thousand miles far enough to say I love you?
Hudson Oliva loves stability. He was a throwaway teen before finding Kaleidoscope Gardens but has since thrived at the commune. When Jude Garrity moves in, life gets even better, but Hudson still craves more. He knows he has to be satisfied with their exclusive status being temporary and that Jude will eventually navigate his full sexual awakening with their other housemates.
Hudson has a journey of his own to make. It might only require going home to settle his grandmother’s estate, but he plans to use his time away to figure out how to temper his feelings for Jude and bury his jealousy once and for all. But when Jude joins him on his trip, Hudson falls even deeper in love, especially after Jude stands by his side when he finally confronts his mother for rejecting him.
However, it’s not all hearts and flowers while they travel. They’re over two thousand miles from home when Hudson learns a ruthless corporate farm threatens the commune they both love. In order to save their way of life, Hudson must ask his mother for help. And if he wants a chance at a stable future with Jude, he has to tell him the truth about his feelings, no matter if it ruins the harmony he’s tried so hard to preserve.
Thoughts: This is the second book in Posy Roberts Naked organics series. The books center around Kaleidoscope Farms, a commune that grows and sells organic produce, strives for a lifestyle that leaves as small an environmental impact as possible and believes in free love. It is very much a feeling of the 60’s and early 70’s back to nature movement with a modern vibe. The first book introduces us to Hudson, Leo and Charlie who live together in a poly-amorous relationship. As well as the other members of the commune. We meet Jude in this story. Book two explores more of Jude and Hudson’s relationship. I enjoyed the back to nature vibe of the book, and the way the characters work and live together. Each book develops the characters and their relationships while building the frame work for more. Very enjoyable.
The last book I read this week is
Blurb: Ox was twelve when his daddy taught him a very valuable lesson. He said that Ox wasn’t worth anything and people would never understand him. Then he left.
Ox was sixteen when he met the boy on the road, the boy who talked and talked and talked. Ox found out later the boy hadn’t spoken in almost two years before that day, and that the boy belonged to a family who had moved into the house at the end of the lane.
Ox was seventeen when he found out the boy’s secret, and it painted the world around him in colors of red and orange and violet, of Alpha and Beta and Omega.
Ox was twenty-three when murder came to town and tore a hole in his head and heart. The boy chased after the monster with revenge in his bloodred eyes, leaving Ox behind to pick up the pieces.
It’s been three years since that fateful day—and the boy is back. Except now he’s a man, and Ox can no longer ignore the song that howls between them.
Thoughts: Wow. This is one of those books that once I started reading, I did not want to stop. Shifter’s is not my favorite sub-genre. A friend told me it was not like other shifter stories and assured me I would enjoy it. I did. So much. I love the style, the feel of the story and I adored Ox. One of my favorite books of 2016.
I am sharing this beautiful review by Veronica at Joyfully Jay’s. She is spot on and the last paragraph describes the writing style perfectly. Click on Veronica’s logo below.
